Salthouse Hub

Privacy Policy

Last updated and effective: September 27, 2026. Salthouse Hub is operated by Salthouse Farms LLC, Sheridan, Wyoming.

1. Who we are and what this covers

Salthouse Farms LLC, 30 N Gould St Ste R, Sheridan, WY 82801 (“Salthouse Hub,” “we,” “us”) operates the livestock marketplace at salthousehub.com. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and what control you have over it. It covers the website and any account you hold with us, whether you browse without an account, hold a free buyer account, or hold a paid seller membership.

We operate in the United States and this policy is written for U.S. residents. We do not offer the marketplace outside the U.S.

2. The short version

3. What we collect

Everyone with an account: your name, email address and password (the password is held by Amazon Cognito, our sign-in service, and we never see it); a postal code if you give one, used to show distance to listings; anything you write in messages to other users, in a report, or to us.

Browsing without an account: a ZIP code if you enter one to sort by distance. It is used for that request and is not tied to you.

Buyers who reserve: the listing, the amounts, the pickup window, and what you and the seller agree through the site. The card you pay with is entered into Stripe’s form, not ours.

Sellers, additionally: the name you sell under (your own, or your farm or ranch name) and its town and state; the pickup locations you set up, including their street addresses; your listings, including photos and the animal’s details; and, when address verification is required, the name and street address you state and the documents you upload to show them, for example a utility bill, bank statement, lease, brand inspection certificate, or driver’s license.

Collected automatically: the IP address, browser and device type of each request, in server logs kept for security and troubleshooting; the coordinates we calculate from a postal code or address you give us; the session cookies that keep you signed in; and, through Google Analytics, the pages you visit, how you arrived, and your device, browser and approximate location (section 14).

Received from others: Stripe tells us whether your identity checks passed, whether your account can receive payouts, whether a payment succeeded or was disputed, and the status of your membership. It does not send us the underlying documents, card numbers, or bank details. Amazon Location Service returns coordinates for the postal codes and addresses we look up.

4. What we deliberately do not collect

DataWho holds itWhy not us
Card numbers, CVV, expiryStripeCards are entered into Stripe’s own form and never touch our servers.
Government ID documentsStripeSeller identity verification happens inside Stripe’s onboarding. We receive a result, not the document.
Social Security or EIN numbersStripeCollected by Stripe for tax reporting and payouts.
Bank account or routing numbersStripeSellers give payout details to Stripe directly.
Phone numbersNobodyWe do not ask for one and we do not send text messages.

The one sensitive document set we do hold is the address verification described in section 3. See sections 6 and 9 for how it is handled and how long it survives.

5. How we use your information

We do not use your information to build advertising profiles, and we do not feed it into any system that trains an AI model.

6. Automated processing and AI

One automated system touches personal information, and we describe it exactly. When address verification is required, the documents a seller uploads, together with the name and address the seller stated and the name they sell under, are sent to Amazon Bedrock, a service in our own Amazon Web Services account, which runs an Anthropic Claude model. The model reports whether the documents appear to show that person or business at that address, what kind of documents they are, and any concerns. That summary is stored with the application.

What it can and cannot decide. When the documents clearly match the stated name and address, and Stripe has already verified the seller, the application is approved automatically so the seller can list at once; an administrator is told of every such approval and can suspend the account. Anything less than a clear match is placed in front of a member of our staff, who opens the documents and decides. No seller is ever refused by software, and a denial always comes with a reason and the chance to upload new documents.

Amazon Bedrock does not store the documents or the model’s answer after the request, does not share them with the model provider, and does not use them to train any model.

Colorado and several other states give you the right to opt out of profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects. Because software here can only approve, and every refusal is a person’s decision, this review never denies anyone the marketplace on its own, and we treat it as outside profiling of that kind. If that ever changes, we will provide the opt-out those laws require before it does.

7. Who we share information with

We share personal information with service providers who process it on our behalf, under contract, and only for the purposes described here.

ProviderWhat they receiveWhy
StripeName, email, business name, and the payment and identity information you enter into its formsPayment processing, seller identity verification, payouts, membership billing
Amazon Web ServicesEverything the platform storesHosting, sign-in (Cognito), database, file storage, email delivery, address lookup (Amazon Location Service), and the AI review in section 6 (Amazon Bedrock)
Google (Analytics and Ads)Pages visited, with any payment or account references removed from the address; how you arrived, including an ad click; device, browser and approximate location; and whether you created an account or applied to sell. Never your name, email or messages.Counting visits and measuring which of our ads lead to sign-ups

We also share information in these situations:

8. We do not sell your information

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined under California, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Virginia and other state privacy laws. Google Analytics runs as our service provider with Google signals, ad personalization and data sharing for Google’s own purposes switched off, so it is used only to measure our site and our own ads, not to target you with ads elsewhere. There is no “Do Not Sell or Share” control because there is nothing to opt out of. If this ever changes, we will update this policy and provide an opt-out before the change takes effect.

9. How long we keep information

DataRetention
Account informationWhile your account is open. When you delete your account we remove your name, email, and location from it at once and delete your sign-in; the transaction records below keep only an anonymous reference to it.
Address verification documentsDeleted from storage 90 days after upload. The decision, its reason, and the AI summary stay on the seller record.
ListingsWhile active, and afterwards as part of the record of any reservation made against them.
Listing photosThe uploaded original is deleted 30 days after upload; the resized copies are removed when the listing is.
Photos attached to a reportDeleted from storage 180 days after upload. The decision and its reason stay on the report.
Reservation and payment recordsSeven years, for tax and financial recordkeeping.
Messages between usersAs long as either party holds an account.
Reports, disputes and administrator decisionsSeven years, so patterns stay visible.
NotificationsUntil you clear them.
Server and access logsA limited period for security and troubleshooting.

Where we are required to keep something longer, such as an open dispute, a legal hold, or a tax obligation, we keep it for as long as that requires and no longer.

10. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

Residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, and Virginia have some or all of these rights under their state’s law. We extend them to every U.S. user.

Appeals. If we refuse a request we will tell you why in writing. You may appeal by replying to that message. We respond to an appeal within 45 days, and if we deny it we will tell you how to contact your state attorney general.

11. How to exercise your rights

Email howdy@salthousehub.com from the address on your account, or use the controls on your account page. We will verify that you control the account before acting, and for a deletion request we may ask for more, because deleting the wrong account is not reversible. We respond within 45 days; if we need longer we will say why and take no more than 45 additional days. You may have someone make a request on your behalf with written proof of their authority; we will still verify your identity directly. There is no charge unless a request is excessive or repetitive, in which case we will tell you the cost first.

12. How we protect your information

No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your personal information, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as the law requires.

13. Email

Service email, such as deposit confirmations, pickup arrangements, report decisions, verification decisions, membership charges and security notices, is part of the service and cannot be turned off while you hold an account. Every notice is also listed on your notifications page. We do not send text messages. We do not currently send marketing email; if we ever do, every message will carry an unsubscribe link and unsubscribing will not affect service email.

14. Cookies

We use only the cookies the site needs to work: session cookies that keep you signed in. They are marked httpOnly, so scripts in your browser cannot read them, and they are what let us show prices only to signed-in buyers. Blocking them will prevent you from signing in.

We also use Google Analytics, which sets first-party cookies (named _ga and _gcl_…) to recognize a returning browser and to tell whether a visit came from one of our Google ads. Google keeps this data for 14 months. We do not use advertising cookies for remarketing or to profile you, and we run no other third-party tracking pixels. If your browser sends Global Privacy Control, the site does not load Google Analytics at all, and blocking cookies or using a content blocker stops it too; neither affects anything else on the site.

One exception: a seller may add a video to a listing as a link, and the listing page shows it in the video host’s own player. YouTube and Vimeo are shown through their cookie-free players. A Facebook or Instagram video is shown through Meta’s player, which may set Meta’s cookies in your browser while that listing is open; Meta’s privacy policy governs what it does with them. Every video also carries a plain link to watch it on the host instead.

15. Information other people can see

Do not put anything in a listing or a message that you would not want a stranger to read. We cannot retract information another user has already seen.

16. Children

Salthouse Hub is not directed to children. You must be at least 18 to hold an account. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18; if we learn that we have, we will delete it.

17. Changes to this policy

If we make a material change we will post it here, update the date at the top, and email account holders at least 10 days before it takes effect. Material changes include new categories of information, new recipients, new purposes, and any change to sections 6 or 8.
